Anglo Additives distributes and dispenses microsilica to the concrete industry, and to construction/civil engineering contractors.
A modified microsilica slurry is also supplied to specialist flooring contractors as a bonding agent between fresh and hardened concrete; a spraying service is also provided for larger floors.
Microsilica powder is principally Silicon Dioxide (90 – 95%), the balance is trace minerals. The powder is the fume recovered from the smelting of Silicon, the average particle size is 0.15 microns; perhaps 10% of particles exceed 1 micron, the smallest is as small as matter will go. The powder is a highly reactive pozzolana. Sometimes called a super pozzolan it is roughly three times more reactive than Ordinary Portland Cement.
